Why Underground Krav Maga and Fitness?
We are a community. We started as a group of friends training together and training our children at home. We want to teach what we have learned and cultivated to the public to create a safer community and to bring confidence and improved fitness to our community members. We enjoy training in Krav Maga and want to share it with others.
What Is Krav Maga?
Krav Maga is not a martial art, it is a real-world self defense system. The first and overarching principle of Krav Maga is to neutralize the threat quickly. There are no rules in Krav Maga other than get home safely.
Krav Maga is simple. There aren’t complicated routines to memorize. Simple strikes, holds, and blocks are used.
Defense and attack are simultaneous. Many martial arts are composed of separate and distinct defensive and offensive tactics. In Krav Maga these actions are combined to neutralize the threat as quickly as possible.
Continuous motion is used to neutralize an attacker with a series of defensive/offensive moves.
Subduing techniques. Some situations will require subduing techniques rather than striking and injuring someone. For instance, if someone grabs your shirt, rather than pummel them, you may only need to remove their hand and hold them until they submit or until assistance arrives. This is the area we emphasize in our children’s programs.
